Hey there, friends! I’m dusting off my keyboard right now–it’s certainly been a while since I’ve posted a personal blog, so I’m filled with some nervous butterflies..forgive me if I’m a little rusty!
Our fall has been fun, and so FULL, and it’s only just begun! Esme, our sweet little peach, turned 3 in September. Our baby-man, Lee-lee (Levi) turned ONE a few days ago! (We celebrated with ice cream cones with extra sprinkles). We made our first visit to a pumpkin patch and that’s where all these photos came from. In my usual way, I did not dress myself or my family for the weather, and although we were icicles, we were determined to have fun.
The girls danced by these giant pumpkins, and then we made our way through the corn maze where Isla asked repeatedly if she could eat one (you can see her eyeing that one up in the bottom-right photo). We had saltwater Taffy as we tried to warm up our frozen toes, pet some goats, went down huge slides, filled our boots with corn from the corn pit, and played in the play area for over an hour. Our attempt at this photo opp. thing, oh gosh, haha! Levi looks like a Da Vinci baby drawing.
We went on a hayride and the girls both picked out a little pumpkin (stay tuned for the carving ‘episode’ on IG coming soon: @MadelineRome). And poor sweet Levi was such a trooper in the cold. If the ache of my arm about to fall off wasn’t there, I’d forget I was holding him. (Don’t be fooled, he only made this sour face because I passed him to Nick.)
I think I can say for all of us that we are so excited for this new season of 2018 and life for us. The holiday season’s gotten a lot more fun around here. We’re excited for Halloween (the girls are princesses & Levi is a dragon), cookie baking & decorating, over-eating, books & snuggles, sleepovers in the living room, the whole Christmas season(!), and making up for a lot of time lost over the summer as we worked through our busiest year EVER! And Nick & I hope your holiday season is off to a great start, too, and that the rest of your year looks like ours–in the sense that you’re doing all the things you love to do, with all the people you love to be with.
And thanks for reading, sweet friend! Be sure to let me know all about your little adventures, too!
