It was a gorgeous, sunny day for Chris & Monica’s engagement session! We made stops in Downtown Delafield, Lapham Peak, and their beautiful home in Sullivan for this grand event!
They met in their senior year of high school, through mutual friends. He instantly caught her attention, and couldn’t shake the feeling that there was just something about him. She skillfully got his phone number and the rest is history! Despite being in different colleges, they never skipped a beat, and stayed strong through it all.
“Not a day goes by that I don’t feel important in his life…I have genuinely found someone who would give, and do anything for me,” she crooned after I asked her what she loved most about him. “His eyes..and his ability to make me laugh are a bonus, too.”
On the day before Christmas Eve, Chris planned on popping the question…but that morning, they discovered that their close friends Dom and Morgan got engaged, too! (You know–the one that proposed during a (frozen) romantic morning horseback ride??) So, Plan B went into effect. While in Florida with Chris & his family, they rented a pontoon boat and cruised around Snake Island. They played yard games, grilled out, and watched a gorgeous sunset. His family was in on it, and had their cameras at the ready for when it happened!
“Did you get that picture I sent you of my cousin?” Chris asked Monica. She didn’t have service on her phone and found it strange that he seemed anxious about it. He asked her again, but she still hadn’t received it. They packed up all their things and headed back to the boat, and he waited nervously, but she still hadn’t received the photo. Once the boat took off, her phone finally buzzed with a photo of their two adorable Labs, Deke & Duke, with signs around their necks that read, “Will you marry our dad?”
Instantly overwhelmed by love and joy, Monica burst into tears as she cried, “YES!” to the man of her dreams!
So that brings us to their amazing engagement session! Monica SLAYED, first of all. LOOK AT HER! Can someone tag a modeling agent?? I think all the animals and her coworkers at the vet clinic would miss her SO MUCH but this girl just might have a future in modeling! We started the session in downtown Delafield, and then headed over to Lapham Peak for a few minutes, and then back to their beautiful home in Sullivan. Duke & Deke were the best, and I was bummed that I wasn’t able to smuggle one of them home with me, haha!
They can’t wait to grow old with one another, and continue building a beautiful life together. I think I can safely speak for EVERYONE that knows and loves these two, that we are all SO excited for you both! You are so truly loved.
So here’s to you, Chris & Monica! We are SO excited to celebrate your beautiful day alongside you next August–it’s going to be positively perfect! I hope no one actively looks for me, because I will be SOBBING behind the camera 95% of the time.)
