Their story begins in fall of 2009, at a high school football game. As Morgan watched the game, Kelton walked over and struck up a conversation. They talked the evening away, and both walked away with blossoming crushes. They exchanged numbers and talked throughout the rest of the fall season, talking nonstop! That following January, after spending mornings getting to know each other, he asked, “Well, should we make this official?” There was his first yes! At the end of Kelton’s senior year, they met their first strains to their relationship, as Kelton prepared for college, and Morgan struggled with inevitable changes. They split for 2 months over the summer. This was a time of self-reflection, prayer, and personal growth for both of them. In the end, they reunited, and prepared to face a new season of life together.
From being close and sharing sweet-love experiences (like their first kiss, high school & college graduations, and first jobs), to enduring a long distance relationship (as far as France!), to facing personal hardships head-on, Morgan and Kelton earned each other’s explicit trust, and showed the kind of unconditional, self-sacrificing love that you hope for in a spouse. Before long, Kelton knew he found his wife.
“Let’s go for a walk and watch the sunset,” Kelton said. While vacationing with Kelton’s family in Florida, a gorgeous painting took place in the sky above the ocean. She said yes, and they stepped through the soft sand. Not long after, Kelton pulled her into a hug, then moved down to one knee, and asked her to be his wife. Shocked and flooded with tears and joy, Morgan cried and nearly fainted. He asked her again and through tears, she managed, “Yes!” Over the moon, they made their way back to his family, where they waited with champagne (and beer for Kelton). She called her mother to tell her the good news. “Look up!” her mother cheerfully said. Morgan looked up to find her parents walking toward her, ready to celebrate with them, too! The gesture of having her parents there was orchestrated by Kelton, and meant the world to Morgan! (I mean seriously-that is the sweetest!)
Their engagement session at Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve in Appleton was one of my sweetest fall sessions! These two came prepared to share their genuine, happy love in front of the camera. The sunshine was beautiful, the preserve was wild and pretty, and the pictures were so sweet! Congratulations again, sweet friends! We are so happy for you to begin a new season of life together–enjoy every moment! <3
