Diana & Matt’s story begins at a wedding. She’ll tell you that she won his interest when she asked him if he wanted another Spotted Cow (even though he had an entire drink left. He promptly chugged it to get another and keep talking with her). He’ll tell you that he won her affections while dancing to Cotton-Eyed Joe. Either way, sparks flew that night!
A few weeks later, Matt flew from North Carolina to Madison to visit her at school. They were both undoubtedly nervous to spend a weekend with someone they didn’t know well, but the sparks continued! The entire time was spent talking, walking, biking, kayaking, playing ultimate frisbee…Matt went home sore from all the fun they had together!
The two continued dating over the next two years, very long distance. He lived in Colorado, Texas, New York, and South Dakota, and Diana enjoyed the opportunity to travel around for visits. In June of 2018, Diana walked El Camino de Santiago in Park Guell. Matt flew out to see her there, and in view of beautiful Barcelona, he asked her to be his wife.
And if that’s not a cinematic proposal, I don’t know what is! For their future, the two are excited to finally live in the same place for the first time, and are so thrilled to wed in beautiful Madison. In fact, we took these beautiful engagement photos at the UW Madison Arboretum! The sun peeked out a few times, and these two were all smiles with me.
And WE are so thrilled to be the photographers for such a beautiful couple! These two radiate so much joy, love, and kindness, and I had the best time with them. I am so excited for their future together, and can’t wait to dab away tears at their beautiful wedding next year!
