A ROMANTIC THEMED CEDARBURG ENGAGEMENT SESSION
When Phil and Kate told me that they LOVED the 50’s era and wanted to theme their engagement session after it, I was SO excited! The two are such a cute couple, and we wanted to make this session one to remember!
When considering a spot, I told them about Cedarburg (one of the prettiest cities and favorite places to shoot in Wisconsin in my opinion), and about a place called Wayne’s Drive in that has drive nights in the summer. I wasn’t sure that that all entailed, but we decided to go with it, send an email to Wayne’s, and hopefully befriend someone with a cool collector’s vehicle to let us ‘borrow’ (i.e. stand next to) during the shoot.
And lucky for us, that’s exactly what happened! An amazing guy with an amazing black Thunderbird let us shoot near his car, and also sit in it! It was amazing!
But back to the good stuff–Phil and Kate met at a bar in West Allis. Kate, a free spirit content with being single, wasn’t quite interested in Phil in a romantic way. But over the course of about a year, he won her over with his adorable, calm demeanor. In her words, he evens her out. (And vice-versa!)
And how did he pop the question? The two spent the 4th of July together with their families, and Kate recalls it being a whirlwind of a day, with lots of people pulling her in different directions. Phil’s proposal plan was in motion, fireworks and all, but just needed a little help getting her to come outside. After someone shouted for her to come out to say goodbye to a guest, Kate finally was able to come out to find her him on one knee, fireworks blazing! (Ask her to show you the photos!)
So congratulations to you, Phil & Kate! Your love story is so sweet, and your engagement session was a blast! We are so excited for the wedding in October–it’s going to be positively stellar!
ALSO! A very special thanks to Wayne’s Drive In, in Cedarburg Wisconsin! We were graciously allowed to ask patrons that brought their collector vehicles on Thursday’s Drive Night if we could shoot near their vehicle to truly catch the 50’s vibe, and it all worked out!
If you’re free on a Thursday evening, be sure to head out there for an awesome hamburger and walk through a treasure trove of awesome collector cars!
