COVERAGE, PRICES, AND TRAVEL
What is your pricing?
At the bottom of each Investment page, I have a ‘Sessions Starting At’ price.
If you’re ready for a consultation, or would like more details, I’d love to chat!
Do you work with a second photographer?
Yes! Nick and I are a husband-and-wife team.
Do you edit all your photos?
I do! Every image is modestly enhanced, receives basic beauty editing,
and each image that you receive is also accompanied by a black & white copy.
Where do you live and how far will you travel?
I live in Fort Atkinson, WI, and I travel wherever my client would like me to.
What are your travel costs?
My no-charge zone for all session types is a 1 hour radius of Fort Atkinson. Anything further than that is charged a $25 per half hour travel fee, each way.
For a destination wedding, we charge two round-trip plane tickets, a hotel room, and the cost of a babysitter.
Do you provide partial day coverage (weddings)?
I do! I provide an hourly option to my clients (at a minimum of 4 consecutive hours).
How many pictures do we receive?
For weddings, you should expect about 50-75 images per hour. This is a rough estimate–yours will vary depending on the extent of details within your own unique wedding. Other sessions may have a set number of images which will be disclosed at your inquiry.
Do we receive the raw, unedited files?
No. I deliver my final work, completed to my standards, in JPEG format.
Can we see the outtakes or all the images that didn’t make the ‘final cut’?
No. This is kind of like asking your gardener for the bag of cut grass or a chef for the leftover ingredients from a meal.
These are outtakes–someone blinked, stepped in front of my camera, something unflattering happened, it’s a duplicate shot, etc.
The photos I will deliver to you will be the sans pareil–a non-overwhelming and lovely display of the best from your session or wedding.
How do we order prints?
Because you will have the replication (print) release, you will be able to print the images at the printing service of your choice. We highly recommend ordering from your online gallery for high quality prints and products.
How do we receive our photo package?
I will mail via the USPS to an address provided from you. You will receive an email with a tracking number.
Can I edit, change, or alter the pictures? (e.g. Instagram filters? Photoshopping?)
This is not permitted, and I would truly appreciate that you didn’t. Because social media reaches so many people on so many different platforms, you could hurt the integrity of my images and deter potential clients. Feel free to share—but please don’t change the colors or style with filters/excessive cropping/etc.
How would you describe your style of photography?
The skinny: I like my photos to look fun, sweet, and romantic.
Can you make the photos look how WE want them to look? (Color pops, dual colors, etc)
Please take a look at my portfolio again, because this is what you should expect from me. If you’d like me to change my entire style or editing tendencies, I’m not sure that I’m the right photographer for you.
(Weddings/like-events) Do you take formal pictures?
I do. I ask my clients to set some time aside to have these done, according to the amount of people to be photographed.
I also ask that my clients limit their formals to only the VIP, because this can take up a considerable amount of time, and help prevent it from becoming a free-for-all.
I also ask that an attendant or two (with a loud voice) to be provided to help organize the participants, and keep them there until photos are completed.
Can we provide you with a ‘shot list’ that we made on Pinterest?
You’re more than welcome to send me some ideas of images you’d like to recreate, but usually, it’s the feeling of the picture you’re after.
Wouldn’t you rather have original photos that others would want to Pin from your day? Be inspired by others, but trust me when I say that I want to create special and original pictures of your unique day.
If a Pinterest list doesn’t work out, it can become a source of disappointment for you and stress for your photographers.
(Non-wedding) What should we wear to our session? What should we bring?
If you hover over the Blog tab, and click the ‘Tutorials’ in the drop down menu, you’ll find blog posts about how to dress and what to bring to your session :)
BUSINESS & DETAILS
Will you be the one shooting for us?
Yes, I will be shooting for you, not someone under my name.
How is a date reserved?
Dates for all session types are officially reserved when a contract is signed and the Scheduling Fee is paid.
What is the payment schedule?
The Scheduling Fee is due ASAP with your contract to reserve your date. The remaining balance is due 1 month before your date (weddings), or 2 weeks before your session. We cannot shoot unless we are paid beforehand.
How soon should we book you for our session/wedding?
ASAP! Book quickly to reserve your date before someone else nabs it!
Will you stay later than you’re scheduled?
Absolutely! Overtime rates are discussed during consultations.
(For weddings) How much time should we set aside for Bride & Groom/Wedding Party photos?
This depends on several things, including your timeline, the extent of photos to be taken, the size of your wedding party, and your formals. Simply stated: time management is crucial in making the most of this slice of the day. We will plan your timeline together to ensure that we have ample time for the photos that mean the most to you.
Do we need to provide a meal to you and your second shooter at the reception?
It would be so very kind of you to! We would really appreciate it after a full day of shooting and eating pretzels between locations. We would like to eat right when you do (because we won’t shoot anyone while they’re eating), so we can get right back into shooting when we’re done.
Do you use images from my event in your portfolio? For advertising?
I may use photos in my portfolio, and on various social media platforms, but if you’d really like me to not use any for advertising, etc., we can discuss it further and come to an agreement.
Do you offer discounts for off-season or non-Saturday events?
Unfortunately, no. My Wedding Collection prices, and prices for all other sessions, are set, and don’t depend on a specific day.
Do you offer discounts for friends and family?
As much as I’d love to, I do not. This is my business and livelihood. When you’re booking with me, you’re supporting a real family running a real business with real expenses. I hope that family and friends that inquire from me can appreciate that.
What cameras and lenses do you use?
We shoot with Canon 6D’s and a plethora of prime and fast zoom lenses.
What editing software do you use?
Lightroom and PhotoShop.
Can you teach me how you edit pictures?
Absolutely! Let’s connect and set something up!
Are you looking for a second shooter?
Unfortunately, no. My husband and business partner, Nick, is my second shooter.
Are you looking for an assistant?
Send me a message!
Do you shoot in RAW or JPEG?
I shoot RAW, and you should, too!
